My Super Sephora Haul!!

Hallo!!

I haven't posted in forever, but for good reason! I've been busy working at the clinic and working non stop with research. Reflecting back the past two weeks, I haven't had anything worthy to blog about really... until now, of course!!

Long story short, I've finally bitten the dust and fell into full makeup mode and fulfilled my desires to do a Sephora haul. And oh boy, did I haul. I haven't bought makeup in so long so I needed a refill in many of my basic makeup products (mascara, foundation, eyeshadows). I'm really excited to show you guys what I've invested in. Here was my haul and my reviews:

One the first picture from left to right: Sephora Makeup Palette, Neutrogena Healthyskin Foundation, Korres Wildrose Skin Care Set, Stila Illuminating Foundation, Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Blissful, Rose Gold Sephora Brush Set, Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Set (Not pictured - Too Faced BB Cream, Lancome Hypnose Mascara).
Product Reviews:

1. Sephora Eyeshadow Palette - $24
This set I fell in love with because it came with 33 different eyeshadow colors and 3 gel eyeliners, in addition to 6 different blush colors and 12 lip colors! And the best part - it was only $24! Such a steal because the eyeshadows come not only in different colors but also in different textures. You'll find matte colors to shimmery ones, and others with satin finishes. The only downside? No brushes for application. This is a huge downer because it doesn't come with any whatsoever, so if you're a newbie to makeup a set of brushes might be helpful. This is perfect for amateurs (like moi!) It's also so cute shaped like the Sephora bag you take out!

2. Korres Wildrose Skin Set - $40

I have extremely dry skin and I was tired of breaking out due to lack of moisture in my face. My skin is so dry that I literally put on 3 layers of moisturizer every morning, and I dry out fast depending on the environment. At the clinic I work at, they keep the air dry and cool, so my face is sapped from moisture within 3 hours. I even came out once with peeling skin after an 8 hour shift (my dry skin is genetic). I decided enough was enough and looked for a new skin regimen. I came into the store wanting Murad products, but after talking to a sales lady I ended up buying this Korres set. I love love love it!! After three days of wearing it and I feel like my face is back to "normal". I have much more to say about this set, so I will most likely do a whole blog review on it within the next couple of days.

3. Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation in 40 Watts - $38

I usually go bare faced with just a tinted moisturizer, but there are days where I want to go glam and put on actual foundation. I also use foundation as a concealer from time to time with my hyper pigmented spots. However, finding a foundation that matches my undertone and skin color is hard.. it just seems that most foundation out there is for caucasian skin. However this works so well with my skin and makes me look glowing! It has medium coverage, but you can always put on another layer. Even with two layers it doesn't look cakey. Any more than that I'm not too sure, but if you're going for more coverage this isn't for you. Bottom line is that it goes well with yellow skin and golden undertones and gives what it promises - illumination!

4. Sephora Rose Gold Brush set - $48
My first high end brush set! My next set will hopefully be from Sigma. The fibers of this brush are so soft and lush, it feels great on my skin. I've only used the stifling and foundation brushes, but so far they performed great for foundation application. I will need to buy more different high end brushes and do more research before I can write a more thorough review. The set comes in rose gold and is absolutely gorgeous!

5. Too Faced BB Cream in Nude Glow - $32
My first BB cream! I've heard so many raves about BB cream, so I decided to try. I was skeptical at first because it seemed that most of the beauty gurus who liked BB creams were fair skinned (of which, is not my case). Additionally, the BB creams they were using were of Asian brands. I happened to stumble upon this at the store and I decided to buy it just to try. Low and behold, it's work well for me! Too faced only came out with 4 different shades of BB cream, and Nude Glow seemed to be the perfect match. It has light coverage, but it can moisturize in conjunction with my Korres moisturizer skin set, resulting in long lasting moisture on my face!

6. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Blissful - $25
I've been a NARS (in Orgasm) blush addict since 2008, but I wanted to give Tarte a try. It stays on well! I've only used it once, but it really stays and doesn't fall out or run. Even my NARS blush actually runs later in the day. I'm excited to use it more. Jen from FrmHeadtoToe has given this blush a great review, which gave me the inspiration to buy it.

7. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - $50
AHHH!! I love Urban Decay products, and I was so excited to buy this. I love neutrals (I'm more into makeup that accentuates rather than bright full makeup). Naked 2 really answers my everyday needs to minimal but effective makeup. I've only tried it once, but maybe in the future I will post pics of makeup looks using the palette just to justify how well it works!

Other products I bought but didn't decide to review include 2 Nails, Inc. nail polish colors ($9.50 each) and my favorite mascara of all time Lancome Hypnose ($28). I also got for free a 24/7 Urban Decay Glide on Pencil and Buxom lipgloss!

Current drugstore fave: I added the Neutrogina Healthy Skin Foundation in Natural Beige in the picture because I love the coverage of this foundation and how it doesn't dry out. It's also SPF 20! For $12.50, it's definitely worth a buy.

Until next time! Penny says hello!
