| I apologize for the crazy hair! Had it in a top knot earlier lol. I'm wearing a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in this picture, in Crush. |
Today I wanted to share with you my newly found favorite lip item that I highly recommend, especially if you're like me and don't like the feel of lipsticks or glosses. Here are the reasons why I absolutely hate putting on lipsticks:
1. Sticky, dry feeling on my lips no matter how much I exfoliate.
2. They wear off so easily, and you have to keep reapplying. You have to bring it with you, they get lost (for me at least) easily. My philosophy with makeup is efficiency and long wearing. On an everyday basis, I don't want to have to touch up and I don't want to carry products with me wherever I go (additionally, I don't like carrying heavy purses, backpacks, etc. - my whole spiel is minimalism). This is just me though, as I am busy busy busy.
3. They often make my lips bigger than wanted. I realize that I many women out there want fuller lips, but I am content with the size of my lips and I don't want them any bigger than they already are.
4. Many lipsticks that perform on the high end (longer lasting, non-sticky, moisturizing) are VERY expensive (take note, Chanel Rouge Allures...).
I realize that the "chubby lipstick" fad has been out for a while. Quite a while back I was able to try on the Clinique Chubby Sticks and while I thought they were very hydrating, the color payoff wasn't so great. I've always dreamt of being able to wear long lasting lip products with a hydrating feel in addition to a great pop of color. A few reviews online had finally persuaded me to try the Revlon Just Bitten Kissables, and I am in love! I bought 1 shade, Sweetheart, and after loving it so much, I bought 4 more shades:

The colors stay true when you apply on the lips, especially after putting 2 or more coats. Depending on how many coats you apply, it can look like your wearing a stain, to a colored lip balm, to a full blown lipstick. They have a minty smell that keeps your lips feel tingling for a while, but definitely moisturizing like a balm. It is a stain, so even after you've eaten or washed it away there's still some color on your lips. I ate Italian food today at Zio's and there was still color left even after I ate chicken fettucini alfredo! It is long lasting! I wore Honey (the most daily-wear friendly of the bunch) and it was still on me after 6 hours. I only have 5 colors, so I can't exactly vouch for every color in this collection.
My past couple of blog entries also have me wearing these lip stains, check them out to see how the colors come out!
Bottom line is that I definitely recommend these to everyone. They cost me about 6-7 dollars from the Ulta at The Rim. For the way they perform in comparison to the price, they are so WORTH IT!
