Rave Review: Tarte Limited Edition Aqualillies Palette

The packaging is A+ material!
Makeup palettes are awesome, especially when they come with everything you need for a makeup look. I first saw this palette about 2 months ago when Tarte had been promoting their launch of Aqualillies makeup products. I think what really caught my attention was that it had been marketed as "waterproof" makeup. And with the coming Texas heat who could pass that up??

Although it's not as "waterproof" as I thought it would be, it's definitely one that's useful and stays all day on me. It comes with a bunch of neutrals that are great for everyday natural eyes. It also comes with a highlighter and a bronzer. I've used the bronzer as an eyeshadow so it has some dual actions. The blush that it comes with is a peachy matte that is easy to blend and stays on well after a full day at work! The only problem I have with this palette is the random aqua blue color. It's not the most pigmented color in the palette and it is super powdery compared to the other shadows. This palette retails for $38 dollars, and I find that it's been sold out at my local Sephora(s) for a while now.  My favorites from this palette include the blush, bronzer and the two matte browns it comes with. All I need in addition to this palette is my eyeliner, mascara, and foundation. It helps me create a fast and easy look without having to grab too many items. Now that's efficiency with proficiency!

Isn't it gorgeous?? You can tell I've used the blush often because the embossed logo is faded out already!

The powders come off midway between powder like to buttery finishes. I would say that the only true waterproof eyeshadows is the dark brown mat color (far right) and the taupe brown color (4th from the left) and the bronzer (second from the left). One particular shadow color that I thought was super cute was the duo chromed shadow (second from the right). It has a gold and pink hue to it, and when you move against the light you see the different hues.
 Until my next post!
