Green Monsters have become something of an enigma since hearing about in early 2011. I've always wanted to put a twist into my own green monster, as there are a million +1 ways to make it. I've concocted my own -- and dear I say, I love it! If you're a sweet tooth like me then you'll most likely feel the same way.
This smoothie recipe isn't the most healthy option although it is still considered healthy and packs on nutrients (an alphabet soup of nutrients). The only big difference is that I add avocado in mine so naturally it'll be packed with more fat, however it is the good kind - oleic acids, omega-3's. And it's a great source of protein (all 18 essential amino acids apprx. 3 grams, vegans rejoice!!) -- so much so that I deem this drink as my official "after workout drink".
1 avocado
1/2 a banana - eat the other half! :)
1 tbsp of honey
1tbsp of Nutella
1 cup of baby spinach
1/2 cup of ice
2 tbsp of flax seeds
Mix altogether in a blending machine and viola!!! Easy lunch/snack meal and GREAT after a workout! I just made some this morning and I think I may pack this as a light lunch meal with a boiled and seasoned egg on Wednesday -- yup great plan! ^_^
What's your green monster recipe? :)
Jacquis

Hello Jacq!
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for quite awhile and then I realized you were at the TPTA conference! :)
I wish I had the chance to introduce myself and say hi to a fellow spt blogger.
P.S. I saw you again at the Exhibition (TPTA), but I was too shy to approach you! And also, I just want to point out that we share odd similarities... I am Filipina, battling PCOS, and am also a SPT in TX. You are uber gorgeous, especially in person!
ReplyDelete:)
Kristine! Aw thank you, I'm so happy that you and I have similarities -- I love blogging and I've found it really healthy for me since starting school! I have a feeling that you and I will meet again (especially if you keep on participating on a state and national level!). Don't be shy next time! Hope to meet you!
