The first palette from Wet'n'Wild that I want to share is a 8 pan palette and it is called Petal Pusher. I love purples and lilacs. I haven't found my ultimate favorite color, but I always tend to gravitate to purples because it seems to compliment my skin color quite well. So naturally, I reached for this palette. I bought this item for only $4.99 at my local Walgreens in Houston. I know that at HEB in San Antonio it costs a dollar less. So the price varies within location.
Swatches. I love all the colors with the exception of the very first swatch.
Texture: All shadows with the exception of light colored brow color (first swatch) are in the mix between creamy and powdery finish -- leaning more into creamy. The brow color is super powdery.
Pigmentation: 3.5/5. A few of the swatches I had to apply twice to get a closer color to the pan. It is build-able, which is a good thing.
Application: I don't recommend using the sponge it came with, but it can be somewhat applicable with fingers. But preferably to get the best finish I would use eye brushes -- hands down!
Wear: By itself it runs 5 hours. But with a good primer and setting spray, it can run at least 8-10 hours.
Favorite Color of the Palette: The plumy crease color. Absolutely love it! It's one of the creamier colors out of the pan. It's a dream to apply. Plus the color is just awesome. It's dark enough to use as an outer v (or c) color on your lids.
Overall Thoughts: I recommend this palette! I may be biased because it is purple based, but in all honestly I think purples really match all skin tones. For the price of the palette and the quality, I think it is a steal. I think it would be useful for everyday or for big events. Perhaps I'll be using this palette for Valentines?
The second palette is the Comfort Zone Palette, another 8 pan palette. I've heard multiple good reviews about this palette from various beauty gurus on youtube so I gave it a try. Plus I needed somewhat of a foil for the cool toned colors that I got from the Petal Pusher palette.
The definer was a little jumbled, but it was salvageable. I really like the versatility of this palette.
Beautiful! I love how the colors came out.
The Rundown:
Texture: Similar to the Petal Pusher palette, but all the colors have a creamy texture to them.
Pigmentation: 4/5. Great pigmentation!
Application: Again, along with the palette I don't recommend using the sponge it came with, but use of brushes will advantageous as it will definitely help bring out the colors and better application and blending.
Wear: I only had a chance to wear a combo of these eyeshadows for 6 hours, but it did last the entire time. I hope to edit this later when I have a chance to wear it all day. But granted, it was still quite pigmented at the end of the wear.
Favorite Color of the Palette: The duo toned definer color. Just so awesome! It's like a peacock color, but when you move it against the light you can see multiple colors ranging from a sea green-ish color to a reddish/pinkish color. It would be fabulous for a night out look.
Overall Thoughts: I love this palette! Again for the quality of the shadows versus the price it is definitely a steal. All the colors come out so well, unlike the Petal Pusher palette. It is also really versatile for appropriate day looks, and then night looks. The colors are definitely warmer so it would suit well for yellow toned skin. To me, this would be more wearable than the Petal Pusher.
I used these palettes on my mom for Christmas and New Years (pictures in a blog post below). I think they came out so well on her. If you have the right tools, these palettes definitely perform in a way similar to higher end brands. The textures of the shadows remind me somewhat of Urban Decay's eye shadow textures. Packaging is less stellar with these palettes, but it serves the point. The palettes are thin enough to take every where with or to fit in a purse, but I don't really recommend this because it's not the sturdiest of all packaging.
I hope you guys found this somewhat useful and interesting (especially if you're a makeup junkie like moi!). Don't forget to subscribe if you liked it!
Coming soon are more (and I mean... way more) affordable Wet'n'Wild palette reviews.
Love,
Jacq
p.s. I got a haircut! Well it's, not too different because I wanted to keep my hair long, but get rid of the incredibly horrible ends I had. However my hairstylist cut it to make it easier for me to curl. I'm thinking of getting ombre dyed. What do you think?
